Susan has built her career as a market strategist. In 2007 Susan shifted from 25 years in telecommunications and information technology to social and environmental responsibility opportunities. At that time that Susan founded EASE. Her belief is that the strategic planning, operational efficiencies and marketplace dynamics inherent in successful global business can also generate social and environmental prosperity.
In November 2007 Susan produced EASE's first conference, energyEASE07. This three day 'un-conference' format showcased the potential of collaboration among the segments of a market's value chain. This event birthed what is now known as the EASE Initiative Empowerment System. In August 2008 Susan partnered with Adam Pattantyus to form Merrimack Management Associates, a consultancy focused on bringing EASE systems into the market.
Susan's early career experience was in journalism with Time, Inc. After spending thirteen years in publishing and consumer marketing, Susan founded a full-service ad agency to serve the 1984 newly deregulated telecom industry. In 1989 as the start-up marketing lead for Aristacom, Susan introduced the first computer-telephony software solution. In 1991 Susan founded Technology Marketing Partners, a strategy consulting firm that helped over 150 companies and products achieve market success. Her work included the transition of AT&T to Lucent, the introduction of Polycom and the development and growth of the digital information communications market.
